Smart home system service · New York City
Smart home system troubleshooting, repair and upgrades.
When the WiFi drops, a room goes silent, the projector loses its picture or the controls stop responding, you do not need to guess which component failed. Show us what changed. We troubleshoot the connected system, fix what can be fixed and upgrade equipment when that is the better solution.
Systems installed by others are welcome
Systems we troubleshoot
Including customer-owned systems installed by other companies.
Different brand? Send the name or model if you know it. We can still start with what the system is doing.
You are in the right place
You should not have to become the technician just to use your own home.
Smart-home problems are rarely as simple as the device that appears broken. A silent speaker can point to a source, network, receiver, control, connection, wire or the speaker itself.
We begin with what you are experiencing, test the connected parts of the system and work toward the practical outcome you actually want: reliable WiFi, sound where it belongs, controls that respond and equipment that works together.
Systems we service
Start with what is not working.
You do not need to know the technical name for the problem. Tell us what the system used to do, what it does now and anything that changed.
WiFi and home networks
Coverage, mesh, access points, Ethernet and device connections, including problems that appeared after a router, provider or equipment change.
Home theater and audio
Receivers, amplifiers, speakers, zones, sources, remotes, connections and wiring when sound is missing, intermittent or difficult to operate.
Projector systems
Picture, source, signal path, cabling, screen, settings and projector operation.
Automation and controls
Remote, lighting and AV-control problems, programming changes and systems that no longer coordinate the room correctly.
Outdoor AV
Outdoor TV, audio and WiFi problems involving power, signal, wiring, connectivity and exposure.
Before you call
Notice the clues. Do not take the system apart.
You do not need to solve the problem. A few observations can help us understand where to begin and what equipment may be involved.
If you notice smoke, sparks, liquid, unusual heat or a burning or melting-plastic smell. Disconnect power only if it is safe, and do not turn the equipment back on.
What do you notice?
- Power
- Is the normal power light on? Is nearby equipment also off?
- Status lights
- Is a light a different color or blinking in an unusual pattern? A short video can help.
- Sound
- Any clicking, humming or fan noise, or equipment that is suddenly completely quiet?
- Location
- Is one room or source affected, or is the problem happening throughout the home?
- Recent change
- Power outage, new router, provider visit, software update, new device, construction or moved cable?
- What you tried
- Tell us what you already restarted or changed so we do not begin in the same place.
Before changing more settings
Preserve the clues the system is giving you.
- Skip the factory reset. It can erase the configuration we need to understand the problem.
- Leave unidentified cables connected. Photograph labels, lights, messages and connections instead.
- Avoid repeated restarts. Especially when equipment is hot, smells unusual or makes a new electrical sound.
- Note what changed. A new router, provider visit, outage or update may be the most useful clue.

Frequently asked
What customers usually want to know.
Do I need to know what equipment failed?
No. Describe what the system used to do, what it does now and anything unusual you noticed. Troubleshooting is our job.
Can you work on a system installed by another company?
Yes. We service existing customer-owned systems, including systems installed by another company.
Will you work on the problem during the visit?
We test the affected system and work on corrections that are practical to handle safely on site. Some problems involve failed equipment, unavailable parts or work that is better handled during a return visit.
Can you replace or upgrade failed equipment?
Yes. When equipment has failed or an upgrade is the better solution, we can recommend, supply and install appropriate replacement equipment.
What brands and systems do you work with?
We troubleshoot URC, Lutron, RTI, Logitech Harmony, Josh.ai, AVA Remote, Sonos, Bose, Denon, Marantz, Sony, JVC, Eero, Savant, McIntosh and Bang & Olufsen systems, along with other home WiFi, audio, theater, projector and outdoor AV equipment. If you do not know the brand or model, tell us what the system is doing.
What should I do if I smell burning or see smoke?
Stop using the equipment. Disconnect power only if it is safe to do so, and do not restart it. If there is active smoke, fire or another immediate danger, leave the area and contact emergency services.
